Recovering from a Missed Lunge
While we always hope to hit with every lunge, this just isn't likely to happen. When you do miss with a lunge, you are in a vulnerable position you need to get out of quickly. In the video I show a couple ways to get out of there quickly.
My preferred method is to collapse my back leg, bring it forward to the en guarde position and crossover retreat out of the area. You could also push off hard enough with your lead leg so that you can immediately land in a crossover retreat. Find the best method for you which does not leave you open to further attacks.
